Martyn Jowett
Writer
Martyn Jowett’s creative background began in theatre as a performer and writer of comedy material in Cumbria and the North East. He managed and wrote material for The Buzz Club, a successful weekly comedy venue which was part of the prestigious Brewery Arts Centre in Cumbria.
His television writing career to date has been 100% successful having submitted two sitcom ideas to Ulan Productions both of which have been commissioned as pilot scripts by BBC Comedy.
His most recent project Spectrum is based on the lives of staff and students in a centre for young adults with Asperger Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorders. His writing talent aside it is fair to say that Martyn has a unique perspective on this subject matter having spent the last 16 years teaching in special needs education. The sitcom is heavily based on his own experiences.
