Spectrum
1 x 30 Minute Pilot Script for a Sitcom
Programme Outline
Not many of us arrive at work to find a client twirling our favourite mug on the end of their fecund penis. Welcome to Christie Park Special School.
The people choosing employment in special needs education are selfless, altruistic individuals motivated by the desire to help others and make a difference in society, or so we’ve been led to believe. Christie Park Special School is staffed by a group of malcontents and dreamers with psychological problems that would rival any of those presented by their students.
“Gavin's crapped in Mr McNulty's pocket again … Which wouldn't have been too bad, but his inhaler was in there.”Clive, Spectrum
Spectrum follows the lives of four staff trapped by their own inadequacies in a job they long to escape. Ironically the school is the one environment where their behavioural tics and personality traits are accepted and they can find a common bond with humanity.
